Ray Bradbury wrote his novel in 1953: to what extent has his prophecy come
true today? How do you see the state of affairs changing in the coming years?

This contest is presented by Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association (GIAHA) in
partnership with the Brunswick-Glynn County Library and the Glynn County School System.
They are part of The Big Read, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in
partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest. This unique
program is designed to encourage literary reading by engaging the entire Brunswick-Golden
Isles community in focusing on a single book for the month—Ray Bradbury’s chillingly
prophetic 1953 novel Fahrenheit 451, about a world in which books are burned and media
has taken control over society.
