Fahrenheit 451
30 07 2007Hi and welcome to the Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association’s (GIAHA) Big Read Site! What is the big read you say? Glad you asked. The Big Read is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest. This unique program is designed to encourage literary reading by engaging the entire Brunswick-Golden Isles community in focusing on a single book for the month—Ray Bradbury’s chillingly prophetic 1953 novel Fahrenheit 451, about a world in which books are burned and media has taken control over society.
Brunswick and the Golden Isles Reads Fahrenheit 451 is scheduled for Spetember 7 – October 8, 2007. GIAHA is partnering with the Brunswick-Glynn County Library and the Glynn County School System to bring all these great events to the community.
